History

The name of the company is derived from its two founders, Henning Holck-Larsen and Soren Kristian Toubro - two Danish engineers who settled down in India. The company was founded in (Mumbai) in 1938. Beginning with the import of cement machinery from Europe, L&T rapidly took on engineering and construction assignments.
